Sales Director For the New York branch of our renowned contemporary art gallery client, we are seeking a Sales Director. The gallery's program emphasizes site-based installation and multimedia work, in addition to painting and work on paper. The successful candidate will work to develop, maintain and expand client relations with private and corporate collectors, as well as commissioning work for high-end luxury property and development projects. The ideal applicant will have at least 8-10 years experience in contemporary art sales; excellent client contacts and relationship-building skills; familiarity and strong professional contacts with the New York art gallery and art fair world; knowledge of relevant developments in curatorial and museum trends relating to contemporary art; and an ability to represent the gallery in both professional and social settings. BA in art history or related required; MA a plus. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are required, and a team-oriented approach is essential.
