Hi, I am writing for another museum near me that does a lot of retail sales of digital prints of the images in their photo collection. An issue has come up regarding photos of famous people. The museum has in its collection many photos of celebrities and other famous people (e.g., Groucho Marx, Mickey Mantle, Jackie Gleason, Chris Evert, Presidents, etc.) that they have sold copies of over the years. They now have a board member who says that can't sell them because the museum might get sued by relatives. Some of the photos have been donated through various sources over the years and a large collection from a local photographer was donated with him "turning" over the copyright and/or ownership to the museum. They want to know if there are any copyright/trademark issues with selling these copies from their collection. Thanks. ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
