I agree at 90% with Roger ;-)
ICOM-US work very well to make more people aware, but also in Europe and
around the world ICOM is not well recognized and this is a negative thing.
I travel a lot around the world and I normally ask colleagues if they are
aware about ICOM and, if yes, if they are happy or not. And, trust me, many
colleagues are not aware about ICOM or don't thing that ICOM can help in
their activity.

Anyway the main thing is to increase networking
try to exit from fix borders, need to network with many colleagues as is
possible, independently if they are member or not of any association. And
from there will be more easy to suggest to join a committee, an association
etc.
