I’m a big fan of the HOBO dataloggers and I like to print out the temp/RH and light level data as a monthly graph, along with a printout from the NOAA website of what the weather data was for that month.  A year of those graphs helped convince the governing body of a museum I once worked at to commit money to a new HVAC system.  I think a system of the basic dataloggers that includes one with the LCD readout is nice for being able to see what your situation is without having to download everything.  However, I was at a museum recently where they also kept one of the old hygrothermographs running to catch possible fluctuations in between downloads, and I thought that was a pretty good reason to keep one around.

I have used several of the HOBO system monitors and find them to be wonderful. The charts are easier to deal with, they are more flexible and you can get more units, thus giving more information than you can get from a hydrothermagraph alone.

I don't know if this question has been posed before and I am sorry if this is a repeat.  I was wondering if anyone uses digital data loggers as opposed to pen/drum hygrothermographs.  My museum is looking into possible changing out the old hygrothermographs for something a little easier to manage and calibrate but can also keep day to day records.  Does anyone have any opinions and/or suggestions?
