Can anybody on the list recommend a good person/website/book on not-for-profit tax reporting (and possibly bookkeeping)?

We've had several changes in our organization in the last year and will be working with an accountant (pro bono, so time limited) for 2006 (extension already filed); however, I would like to be more knowledgeable before diving into the nitty gritty.  (I'm also not too sure about this accountant's familiarity with not-for-profits.)

In particular, I'm wondering what is the status of an endowment held and controlled by another organization for us.  Is it our asset?  Are contributions to it our income, even though they never pass through our hands?  I realize that this is too particular a question for someone on the list to answer specifically, but it is and example of the type of question I need to research.

Thoughts?  Suggestions?  Resources?
