Speakers:

Geri Thomas, President

Geri Thomas has worked in and for arts and cultural organizations
internationally for more than 25 years. 
At Thomas and Associates, she has been involved in executive search,
strategic planning, organizational development, and human resource
initiatives for such organizations as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the
American Museum of Natural History, the Corning Museum of Glass, the Hudson
River Museum and Christie's. In 2003, she was asked by the British Museum
and the Victoria Albert Museum in London to present a paper on leadership,
management and staff development training in US museums, and in 2004
presented a paper on the status of the museum workplace in the United States
at ICOM's Annual Meeting in Seoul, Korea. Before starting her own company,
Geri was Director of Exhibitions and Collections at the Jewish Museum in New
York. Previous to that, she lived in New Zealand where she was on the
initial planning team for the new national museum, Te Papa. An Associate
Professor at New York University, Geri teaches Museum Management in Museum
Studies at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and Fund Raising for
the Arts in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. She is a
member of ArtTable, the prestigious group of professional women in the arts.
 
Jenifer Simon, Training & Careers Associate

Jenifer Simon holds an M.A. in Arts Administration from Columbia
University’s Teachers College and a B.S. in Studio Art and Art History from
Skidmore 
College. She joined Thomas & Associates in August 2006 to develop the firm’s
<http://artstaffing.com/artcareer/index.html>  Career Services Division. In
November 2006 she launched “ <http://artstaffing.com/shop/shop_report.html>
The State of the Arts: An Art Career Inventory™”, the firm’s international
study on the professional development and career service needs of arts and
culture professionals. She has over 10 years experience working with clients
to increase individual and organizational performance in the non-profit and
for-profit sectors and is certified as a Training & Professional Development
Specialist.
