Just 90 minutes from the urban bustle of Baltimore City and Washington, D.C., sits the Town of Chestertown – the beautiful, gracious, historic county seat of Kent County – and the campus of Washington College. Preservation Maryland and our partners are delighted to bring the Annual Preservation & Revitalization Conference to this remarkable Eastern Shore community, which has been designated one of America’s 2007 Dozen Distinctive Destinations by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

This year’s conference will showcase the rich traditions of the Eastern Shore, while providing tools and resources for participants from throughout the state to take home and implement in their communities.  As always, the conference will bring together staff and volunteers from throughout the Maryland and the surrounding states to participate in exciting educational sessions, workshops, tours and networking opportunities.  This year, too, the beautifully restored Prince Theater will open its doors at a reception hosted by the Town of Chestertown to welcome conference attendees following an inspiring keynote address by Steve Zeitlin of Place Matters in New York City.  The Maryland Historical Trust Awards and Reception will close the conference, allowing us to celebrate the best preservation projects in Maryland.
