I’ve found two books helpful in working with out agricultural collections: The Encyclopedia of American Farm Implements and Antiques by C.H. Wendel (Krause Publications, 2004). Also a Dover reprint, “Turn of the Century Farm Tools and Implements, Peter Henderson & Co. (an 1898 catalog). For that matter, the Sears catalog reprints have also occasionally helped this city kid link a term with a farm tool!

Hope this helps,
