Sandra,<br><br>There are many books on farm equipment and tools, and which one will be most useful to you depends on the type of equipment (hand tools vs. motorized), time period (18th century vs. 20th century), manufacturer (many 19th and 20th century manufacturers issued catalogs, some of which have been reproduced) and geographical location (use and terminology of tools and equipment are often quite localized).
<br><br>One of the best resources would be the &quot;Chronicle&quot; of the Early American Industries Association.&nbsp; It&#39;s available in many libraries and is an invaluable source for all kinds of tools.&nbsp; Also, you may wish to ask for your question to be posted to the e-mail list of the Association for Living History, Farm and Agricultural Museums (ALHFAM).&nbsp; Many ALHFAM members are experts on the subject of farm tools and equipment and are always glad to help with questions like this.&nbsp; The website is
