Cindy --

What about a ""birthday" themed event.  I immediately think of a BIG cake with 70 candles that get blown out by staff, formr board members, benefactors, local celebrities (politicians), the oldest (or youngest) volunteers, or perhaps other seventy-year-olds in the community,  whomever.  SEVENTY candles is a lot and would make for a great visual.  After singing "Happy Birthday" and blowing out the candles, you could cut the cake and serve it at the event. . . .   Imagine, you could decorate easily enough, and send out stock birthday party invitations with the note, birthday "presents" in the form or cash donations are always appreciated.     ;-)
