  I know when someone is loaning something for an exhibit, they are given the option to maintain their own insurance if they wish.  Does anyone actually do this?  What would be the benefits of maintaining ones own insurance as opposed to having the museum's insurance cover an object while it is on loan?

The amounts of the deductible and coverage of each should be considered.
