Job Title: Visitor Services Supervisor

 

Description: The Mütter Museum at the College of Physicians of Philadelphia
is seeking a Visitor Services Supervisor. This person oversees all aspects
of the reception/admissions desk, manages and operates the Museum's newly
renovated gift store, and serves as the main point of contact for weekend
staff, docents, security, and facilities rentals/special events. 

 

The Visitor Services Supervisor supervises all gift store, reception and
security personnel, coordinates staff schedules for proper daily coverage;
answers visitor inquiries and provides customer service to all museum
visitors; handles opening and closing procedures for gift store and front
desk, including counting of cash drawer and daily reconciliation of sales
with inventory; creates and tracks all gift store purchase orders; orders
all gift store merchandise; and oversees quarterly inventories. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; prior retail
experience preferred; excellent cash handling skills, superior customer
service and communications skills; highly organized, independent and
focused; ability to multi-task and an interest in our collections are
crucial. 

 

Salary range is mid-high twenties, with competitive health and retirement
benefits. Position is full time, 9:30 - 5:30, Thursday - Monday, (some
nights and holidays are required).

Development and Events Associate

 

The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, founded in 1787 and the oldest
medical professional organization in the country, is seeking a Development
Associate. This newly-created position provides key administrative support
for donor relations and special events.  This is a full-time position, with
occasional evening work required. 

 

In collaboration with College leadership, the Development Associate helps to
maintain and grow the list of prospects and annual donors, as well as to
develop effective donor cultivation strategies.  The Associate will be
responsible for generating database reports, as well as tracking,
following-up and acknowledging pledges and donations, assisting with
prospect research (including foundations and corporations) and developing
cultivation and solicitation plans.  The Associate will also manage
cultivation events and mailings.

 

Qualifications:  Previous fund-raising and event planning experience is
required.  Proficiency with Raiser's Edge, Word, PowerPoint, and Internet
searching is also essential. 

 

The ideal candidate is detail- and customer-oriented, flexible, and eager to
learn.  Applicants should possess excellent communication skills, be highly
organized, with a strong attention to detail and be able to manage a
multitude of tasks with limited supervision.  Ability to work with
confidential information, anticipate challenges and communicate with a
variety of audiences is also important.  

 

Education/Experience: 3-5 years of development experience and strong
administrative skills required.  College degree preferred.  However, a
willingness to learn, pride in work product and excellent attention to
detail is paramount to educational level and length of employment history.
