This particular WWII Uniform is not quite right for our use, but made me
think of another request.....we are anticipating a traveling exhibition
in March from the Smithsonian- Native Word, Native Warriors, recognizing
the contributions of many different tribes in code talking efforts as
part of military engagements. Does anyone have an old WWII Marine
uniform out there to spare that we could put out for people to try on?
Thanks to any one with any leads or ideas on how we could get a uniform
. Thanks.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] WWII Uniform Looking for a Good Home

Hi All-

We were recently contacted by a woman who has her father's WWII uniform
Eisenhower jacket and shirt and would like to donate them to a museum.
The NMAJMH already has a good number of similar materials, so we will
not be able to accept them, but I told her that I would see if any other
museum would be interested.

Here is what is available-

Eisenhower jacket with tech sergeant chevrons and Allied Mission to
Observe the Greek Elections (1946) patch

Wool shirt with Allied Forces HQ patch and Allied Mission to Observe the
Greek Elections patch.

Assorted patches and pins (I can forward photos to any interested
museum).

Let me know if you are interested and I will pass your contact info on
to her.

Thanks!
