Lots of good points about one-size does not fit all - -very good advice. Please also consider what your by-laws say about your board, what their role is, how long they serve, and how many there should be. Make sure you also have a provision for losing baord members when not living up to expectations. And make sure those by-laws are actually working for the organization. A good board is one that is performing to the needs of the organization -- that's where your measure should lie.
