We're working on doing better tracking and reporting of our volunteer hours, and have had a lot of success getting our reported numbers more in line with real hours worked. We had previously neglected to count a lot of outreach time. However, we find that tracking the hours our Trustees contribute to be the hardest to pin down.
When a trustee volunteers and work an admission gate or an information booth at an event, or signs up for Front Desk duty on a Wednesday afternoon, we count those hours. But what about when they are attending actual board meetings? Do other institutions count those as "volunteer hours" as well?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.
