The Seminole Tribe of Florida's Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum is seeking a
Research Assistant.  The Research Assistant will assist the Registrar
with all aspects of collections management including the care and
preservation of artwork, artifacts, shipping and packing for the STOF
Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum's permanent collections. This position will also
involve research on the permanent collections for exhibit and
educational purposes.  This is an hourly position.

position.  Illustrative tasks include: * Assists with the maintenance
and compilation of records and documents relating to the Museum's
permanent collections. * Assists staff and visitors in securing
collection, donor and source information.  * Aids in the management of
collection, as well as, helps to and process all research requests
related to use of the collection. * Accurately catalog and shelve
library materials. * Performs other related duties as assigned. 
 
Qualifications, skills, and abilities required: At a minimum, candidates
must have undergraduate level instruction in History, Museum Studies,
Anthropology or a related field. Candidates who are in the process of
obtaining a degree (undergraduate or graduate level) in any of these
fields will be also be considered. Excellent organizational and writing
skills. Capable of handling multiple projects and see projects to a
point of completion.  Proficiency in current technologies, including
desktop publishing, spreadsheets, and database management. Ability to
work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Ability to travel when necessary.
