This is why a lot of museums use ³witnessed destruction² when they want to get rid of a deaccessioned object that they do not want to surface later, associated with them. I do not believe that putting deaccessioned material in the trash is ever the right action. You have to take additional steps to ensure that what happened in this case happens.
