Dr. Oscar White Muscarella will lead a special SAFE Tour and lecture at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on September 29, 2006 at 5:30 pm. He will speak about some of the most talked about artifacts of the museum and the unexpected ways objects were acquired in the Greek & Roman, Ancient Near Eastern and other collections. A specialist in the art and archaeology of the ancient Near East, he has been on staff of the Metropolitan Museum of Art since 1964. He is also the author of "The Lie Became Great: The Forgery of Near Eastern Cultures."
