Hi!

Our museum is housed in an 1852 hotel.  During the winter holiday season, we decorate parts of the building in the Victorian style.  We have just begun an initiative to address one of the areas each year to renew the worn out decorations.  Part of this process is also to make sure that everything we are doing is historically accurate, to best of our abilities and within the guidelines of our IPM policies.

Since this will be ongoing, I am looking for as much information as I can get my hands on (books, publications, websites, etc.) about Christmas during the Victorian period.  It would, of course, be great if the sources could be North Carolina or South Eastern focused, but that may not be possible.

Also, I would be interested in sources for reproductions, decorations, and fake greenery and such.  If anyone has gone through something similar, I would love to hear about things to watch out for, solutions, successes and anything that comes to mind!

Thanks!
