Registrar:  New Jersey State Museum seeks a registrar for Fine Art/Cultural History bureaus.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cataloguing, storing, inventorying and monitoring collections, and arranging incoming/outgoing loans.  Requires experience with proper methods of handling, storing, packing and transporting of collection objects.  Computer database experience is also required.  Requires M.A. in American Studies, Art History or Museum Studies and one year experience working with fine and decorative arts collections.  Position also requires occasional weekend duties.  Send resume and list of references by September 21, 2006 to:  Margaret O’Reilly, Asst. gisRetrar:  New Jersey State Museum seeks a registrar for Natural History bureau.  Registrar determines, plans, executes, and makes decisions for the maintenance and preservation of all objects in the Bureau of Natural History and those on loan to the New Jersey State Museum; supervises the recording and management of data on collections and materials entering or leaving the museum; monitors the location, condition, and documentation of all items in the collection and on loan to the museum; does other related work.  Requires a Master’s degree in Paleontology, Geology or Zoology, or a related physical science, and one year of experience involving natural history field and laboratory work involving the research and identification of natural history materials.
