No, not that I'm aware of. We use a white basecoat of Gesso and then the accession number and catalog number go on in black. The whole label ends up being about 1/4-inch by a 1/8-inch Rich Busch Assistant Manager of Education Collections Associate Collections Manager of Health Sciences Denver Museum of Nature & Science 2001 Colorado Blvd., Denver, Colorado 80205 [log in to unmask] (303) 370-6071 -----Original Message----- From: Museum discussion list [mailto:[log in to unmask]] On Behalf Of Sherry Sent: Wednesday, August 16, 2006 1:27 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Re: Artifact numbering Richard, These come in white? Especially if you use tiny dots to make the numbers (run the dots together to make lines and curves as you need) as opposed to trying to write conventionally. My question concerns artifact numbering. I will be training our site museum staff next week and would like to have something to offer them besides a white base coat and a black archival pen. I have searched the = internet extensively for a good white archival pen to use on a clear basecoat, but have been unhappy with my findings. The Zig Opaque Writer = writes too thick and runs together. The Galaxy Marker goes on invisible = and only turns white as it dries, so if you make a mistake you don't know= it until the number is dry. I've revisited the old metal pen nib, white = paint scenario and am reminded of why we gave it up when Micron came along. Has anyone out there found a better solution? If so, any help = would be greatly appreciated.
