You may want to check with the San Diego Model Railroad Museum.  The have an enormous layout consisting of several different gauges (sizes) of trains.  If they cannot loan any sort of traveling layout, they may be able to give you contact information for the different clubs in your area.  The clubs often have layouts that consist of sections built by different members that can be assembled into any number of different configurations and sizes.
