Oakley is more 1820s vernacular, and Rosedown is high-style antebellum, depending on what you prefer.  But both are great places with good tours.  It's a shame you can't do more than one, since they're so close together.  But it's a treat just to drive around and look at architecture....

If you were going to be in St Francisville, LA, which plantation home would you recommend! There are so many beautiful places I have found online (Rosedown, Catalpa, Myrtles, Oakley...). I don't want to drive right past a gem, but unfortunately we will probably only have time for one house tour.

 

Any suggestions?
