I'm curious to know more as to what type of vehicle it might be and whom the purported owners may have been. I was thinking that, if it were some sort of a dragster type (especially Nitro), I found that http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NitroGeezers was especially helpful in ferreting info and was especially informative.

The page now says it's a closed group by invitation only, but I suspect you could send a note to the list owner, indicating your affiliation and purpose, and they would let you in. Alternatively, though still a member, I haven't read in a while but retained my list privileges. If the car falls within this area, I could get write to the moderator and make a request on your behalf.
