I did a procedure, care, and nomenclature manual for the harness and carriage collection at Hyde Park that included some display/storage suggestions. If you would like, I can dig it out and make a copy of specific sections for you. I do not have an electronic copy anymore, I do not think, can look for that too. But the display storage things were all hand drawn. I did, back in the 80s and early 90s design exhibits and storage for carriages and harness at many museums and would be happy to help if you would like. I am now a librarian. We are currently trying to figure out a proper storage method to use for them. They are to large to go in boxes and while most of them are still pliable some are suck in odd shapes after being thrown in boxes for years. We were thinking of making some kind of hanging device to hang them on but we really have no idea the best way to go about this. These things are long, big and heavy. How do the rest of you store your large tack? Any ideas, suggestions, or warnings are greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help.
