Auction House Representative – Philadelphia, PA

 

For our client, the world’s leading auction house, we are seeking a Regional Representative and Head of their Philadelphia office.  This position is responsible for developing a strategy to increase buying activity and consignments of works of art/property and maintaining productive relationships with collectors and clients.  The ideal candidate will have experience researching, initiating contact with potential clients overseeing visits from specialists and appraisers, working with trusts and estates, and securing consignments of a full range of property – from works of art, decorative arts, furniture, etc.  Outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills; business and financial acumen; and the ability to supervise staff is essential.  Previous auction house experience preferred; will consider commercial gallery or other relevant employment in cultural business development.  Excellent general knowledge of art and antiques required.
