AWARDS NOMINATION & PUBLICATION DESIGN COMPETITION  

for the

2006 Conference in Taos, New Mexico

September 18-22, 2006

 

 

The Awards Committee of the Mountain-Plains Museums Association (MPMA) is accepting nominations for its annual awards ceremony to be held at MPMA’s 2006 conference in Taos, New Mexico.  Nominations are now being accepted for the following awards: the Hugo G. Rodeck Award for Excellence, the Museum Leadership Award, and Excellence in Publication Awards.

Nominees should be institutions or colleagues in MPMA's 10-state region.

 

Hugo G. Rodeck Award for Excellence

The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual member of MPMA who has contributed significant service to the museum field within the MPMA region and to MPMA.  It is given infrequently and only in recognition of long and very distinguished service.  Recipients are noted for their contributions to the field of state, provincial, and local history, art, anthropology or natural history and are recognized nationally as leaders in the profession.

 

This award is not made on an annual basis.  Nominations must demonstrate:

                ·              The nature and extent of individual service

                ·              Significance of scope of service

                ·              Contribution to the growth and development of the profession

Museum Institutional Leadership Award

The leadership award recognizes a MPMA member institution for its leadership or significant contribution to the museum field within the MPMA region.  Nominations must demonstrate:

                ·              The nature and extent of the leadership role or contribution to the

 museum field

                ·              Significance and scope of service

                ·              Contribution to the growth and development of museums in the

MPMA region

 

MPMA Publication Design Competition

Entries are judged in two budget levels.

                1.             Operating budget under $250,000

                2.             Operating budget $250,000 and over

 

Entry categories.

                               Books and exhibition catalogs

                               Brochures and rack cards

               Development or Promotion Package*
