The National Park Service (US) is a great resource for this kind of question. They publish a series called Conserve-O-Grams that are available on the web. Several pertain to textiles and 14 focus on aspects of storage. Find them here: http://www.cr.nps.gov/museum/publications/conserveogram/cons_toc.html Good luck Diane Gutenkauf [log in to unmask] On Fri, 17 Mar 2006 14:39:29 -0700, Margaret Bullock <[log in to unmask]> wrote: >I have just become curator of a collection that includes a number of New >Mexican textiles--mostly wool and cotton colchas, blankets etc. In about a >year, we will be completely upgrading collections storage but until that >time I need to rehouse these objects as best as I can. > >Currently, some pieces are rolled and stored in plastic trash bags, some >are folded and in plastic trash bags, some are out on open shelves (rolled, >folded or "lumped").
