The Lawrence (New Jersey) Historical Society, a 150 member all-volunteer group, is<br>applying for a general operating grant to hire a part time<br>administrator/coordinator. &nbsp;The 30 year old society administers two historic
<br>houses, the state-owned 1830 Port Mercer Canal House and the township-owned<br>1761 Brearley House. &nbsp;The latter is available for rental for social and<br>business events. &nbsp;Managing the rental business would be a major part of the
<br>job. &nbsp;Another responsibility would be developing and managing fund raising<br>activities. &nbsp;We envision about 8 or 9 hours a week of work, most of which<br>could be done at home.<br><br>More information about the society is available on our website,
