Focus on Collections Care Workshop Series Seattle, April 5-7, 2006 Spaces are still available for the upcoming three-day workshop series presented by San Diego-based Balboa Art Conservation Center. The workshop series is directed towards persons involved in collections care management, institutional development and policy making, and exhibition development and installation. Students in degree-related programs are also encouraged to attend. Day 1: -Surveying & Assessing Collection Needs -Handling & Housekeeping for Collections -Care of Collections: Photographic Materials Day 2: -Collection Care Planning & Fundraising for Implementation -Making Material Choices for Storage & Exhibit Materials -Care of Collections: Paintings & Painted Surfaces Day 3: -Emergency Preparedness & Response -Practical Strategies & New Tools for Evaluating the Museum Environment -Care of Collections: Paper-Based Materials Each workshop will take place from 9AM to 4PM.
