Many organizations do this. Our organization is advocating for the preservation of a national landmark eligible site owned by our County, but we do not own the building or any building or a collection. We have published a book to preserve the history of the site and to tell the story of the inventions created onsite and the workers who worked there and their impact on the County and state. We do slide-shows, power points, author talks and book-signings, attend historical conferences statewide and nationally and present a display with the history of the site...all to preserve the history of the site and its accomplishments. We are in the process of redesigning our website to tell more of the history of the site and to become more interactive.
