The Grace Museum in Abilene, Texas, seeks
its next Executive Director. The ED provides inspiring leadership, is responsible
for the overall direction of the Museum and its programs, fundraises to
sustain operations, and supervises the care and development of its collections
and physical plant.
Qualified candidates will be energetic museum
professionals with:
§ Excellent
communication, interpersonal and people management skills
§ Proven
fundraising expertise
§ Minimum
of 10 years of increasingly responsible museum positions requiring managerial
and administrative oversight
§ 5
years senior management experience
§ Masters
degree in relevant field
The Grace Museum, founded in 1937, resides
in a downtown renovated historic 1909 building. The 55,000 sq. ft.
general museum includes an emphasis on art, a Children’s Museum and Abilene
history. This dynamic institution has a just under $1 million annual budget,
excess of $9 million endowment, 60,000+ annual attendance, is in the final
phase of AAM Accreditation, and has a professional team of 10 full-time
and 6 part-time.
