The Museum Council of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley Assistantship for Professional Development 
   
  The Museum Council wishes to encourage professional participation in regional and national conferences by our members.
   
  To this end, the Council will offer financial assistance (one $500 stipend in the fall and one in the spring) to a museum professional who is a Council member and who has successfully submitted a session proposal to a national or regional professional development conference.
   
  Funding will only be awarded if the session proposal is accepted for presentation.
   
  To qualify for assistance, the applicant museum or individual must be a current member in good standing of the Museum Council. 
   
  The applicant must provide the Museum Council with:
   
  * Letter of interest that states the financial need for support to attend the conference
  * Current resume
  * A copy of the session proposal and proof of acceptance
  * Letter of support from institution director or supervisor.

  DEADLINES
   
  The deadline date for Spring 2006 applications is March 1, 2006. The winner for the Spring 2006 assistantship will be announced by April 1, 2006.
   
  The deadline date for Fall 2006 proposals is August 1, 2006. The winner for the Fall 2006 assistantship will be announced by mid-September 2006.
   
  The Museum Council will require the winning applicant to give their presentation to the membership of the Museum Council.
