Dear Mr. Seikel:

We have found the this book to be helpful:

Badges and Insignia of the Third Reich, 1933-1945, by Brian Leigh Davis, published by Blandford Press: London, Sterling Publishers: New York. Our copy says 1983 but perhaps there is a more recent edition.

As for British patches, I don't have a ready reference, but you might check the website for the Imperial War Museum in London.

Good luck,
