ASSISTANT CURATOR

Johnson County Museum seeks a detail-oriented, independent worker for the position of Assistant Curator. The museum in located in suburban Kansas City and focuses on telling the history of the city from a suburban perspective. Duties include conducting research, assisting researchers in accessing the Museum’s permanent collection, and creating exhibitions. The ideal candidate will have strong research and writing skills, an understanding of museum collection management issues, and the ability to think creatively and independently.    Qualifications include M.A. in American history, American studies, museum or archival studies; 3 years of similar working experience; and strong computer skills.  This full-time position has a work schedule of Monday-Friday and some weekends.  Starting salary is $15.60 per hour + comprehensive benefit package.  Please send your resume and references to:
