Look into MP3 players.  They’re smaller, lighter, have greater capacity, and individual tracks can be accessed by the visitor in any order, just like your cd players.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Audio Tour Hardware

Our museum is looking to upgrade the hardware used for audio tours. We currently use cd players but would like to know if there is a better option. We are looking for something very user friendly and relatively inexpensive. Does your museum use newer technology for audio tours that you would recommend? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks so much.
