MP3 players. We've been using these at Prestongrange Museum ( http://www.prestongrange.org/) for over two seasons now. Robust, easy to update, easy to use, familiar to most visitors, and available off the shelf. You can easily convert your existing tour material with free software like Audacity.

Best wishes

Subject: Audio Tour Hardware

Our museum is looking to upgrade the hardware used for audio tours. We currently use cd players but would like to know if there is a better option. We are looking for something very user friendly and relatively inexpensive. Does your museum use newer technology for audio tours that you would recommend? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks so much.
