Hello everyone,
I know the listserv has discussed uniforms before but I need to convince my boss that medals on uniforms need to be removed when the uniform is in storage.  He does not have any collections care experience and thinks that the medals will not hurt the fabric of the uniforms.  He also states that buttons and medals have been on the uniforms for years and the uniforms are all right.  I feel that the medals need to be removed and that the buttons maybe kept on if they are not medal or could not be placed back on properly, but would be wrapped in order to keep them from fraying or damaging the fabric.  I would like some feedback so I might have something to bring to him showing why this needs to be done.

Thanks so much,
