Keni, Congratulations on the new job! You might try Mary Ann Bloom in the Education Department at the Field Museum (312 665-7505). I know she was at the Field when they had a group of monks create a mandala and if she doesn't know herself she can probably tell who the contact at the Museum was. I know there's a sizable Buddhist community in Chicago, but I don't know if that's how the contact was made. good luck, janice Janice Klein Director, Mitchell Museum of the American Indian [log in to unmask] www.mtichellmuseum.org -----Original Message----- From: Museum discussion list [mailto:[log in to unmask]]On Behalf Of Keni Sturgeon Sent: Tuesday, January 10, 2006 1:10 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: Mandala Creation and Museum Programs Dear Fellow Museum Professionals: My name is Keni Sturgeon and I am the Curator for Programs and Education at Brown University's Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology. The museum's director and deputy director are very interested in bringing in Buddhist monks to create a mandala as a cultural program this coming fall. I know this has been done at several museums around the US and I could really use some contact information. I am hoping some of you might have some information on who(and how) we might approach to see if they would be interested in (and available) doing something similar at Brown. Or, if any of you have any other ideas for who I might contact I would love to hear them. I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Keni Sturgeon Curator of Programs and Education Haffenreffer Museum of Anthropology Brown University 300 Tower Street Bristol, RI 02809 ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
