Thanks, Sharon, for mentioning NEH support for interpretive planning. If anyone is interested in learning more about the Consultation Grants we offer ($10,000 awards for early planning and consultation with scholars to help shape a museum project) please use the following link to the Consultation Grant guidelines or email [log in to unmask] to request more information. These grants are specifically designed for institutions that haven't yet received an NEH grant, but other institutions are welcome to apply, too. NEH staff is available to answer questions, review a draft of your proposal, or provide samples of successful proposals. Karen S. I was not with the Museum then, but we gathered several consultants to review past exhibition history, the scope of the collection, and the current direction of the Museum to more clearly define our interpretive plan. It was a good exercise and we continue to rely on that plan now. More recently we received a consultation grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to host a roundtable to revisit that interpretive plan in light of the proposed growth of the Museum. This, too, was a very instructive and useful project. I am sure there are other sources, but these are good places to look.
