Apologies if this comes through twice.  I tried to send it on Friday but the authorization to post seems not to have worked.

I would be interested to hear about how loan fees are handled at other institutions.

Does your museum charge loan fees?
If so, how much?
Is the fee characterized as a fee for actually borrowing the object or as a processing fee to help offset staff time, etc.?
Does the fee vary based on the length of the loan or the number of objects borrowed?
Do you charge only for for-profit insitutions?  Or those institutions that, themselves, charge loan fees?  Do you have a liberal policy for waiving loan fees for smaller institutions that cannot afford the fee, but whose exhibits you wish to support?

Please feel free to respond to me off-list, if you would prefer.

Many thanks!
Catherine Dean
