Lynn, You didn't mention whether you needed software for an IBM- or a Mac-compatible system. A number of good programs are available for either, but the top-of-the-line softwares have been type-specific. Just make sure that your genealogy program is "GEDCOM" compatible. That ensures that your data can be transferred from one program to another--crucial in upgrading or trading information. All of the suggestions so far meet that criteria. And I don't think you'll find any GEDCOM software that's limited to ascendancy. One of the Jewish Genealogy Society publications recently had a terrific article summarizing different software options. I think it was the Philadelphia society, in their publication CHRONICLES. Let me know if you're interested in contacting them. --Diane Goldman Maryland [log in to unmask] Subject: Geneaology Software From: Lynn Laffey <[log in to unmask]> Date: Sat, 10 Dec 2005 12:52:11 -0500 Has anyone used or could recommend geneaology computer software? . . . ========================================================= Important Subscriber Information: The Museum-L FAQ file is located at http://www.finalchapter.com/museum-l-faq/ .
