good morning list -

one of my volunteers gave us approximately thirty padded hangers. They're beautiful - wooden core, decent amount of padding - but covered in satin. What I'm wondering is this - can I use them as is or do I need to remove the satin covering and replace it with muslin? My first instinct is to recover them, but using them as is would definately be better than the uncovered plastic ones that we've been making do with.

Along the same lines, I have one other question: are there any sources for reasonably priced wooden hangers to pad out and cover?

Many thanks -
Kathleen
