#2005 – 0015 EVALUATION AND RESEARCH ASSOCIATE, Exhibits, (Full Time/Salaried/ Exempt).  EEO 2. The Science Museum of Minnesota seeks an experienced visitor studies professional to join a new department of evaluation and research.  Responsibilities: Identify practice-based evaluation and research questions in collaboration with project teams and/or the Director of Evaluation and Research in Learning. Design front-end, formative, and occasionally remedial and summative evaluations that are driven by an understanding of audience needs and learning theory. Manage efficient and reliable data collection and analysis. Build upon existing areas of research at the museum to extend current knowledge about its audiences and contribute to the field of informal science learning.  Requirements:  Minimum 3 years experience with formal and/or informal education program or exhibit research and evaluation; advanced social science research skills including quantitative and qualitative methodologies.  Demonstrated ability to use software-based analysis tools such as SPSS.  Excellent oral and written communication skills and a flair for making people comfortable in an interview situation.  Organized, able to work collaboratively with others, and self-motivated to work individually.  A background in or familiarity with science learning theory is desired.  Application deadline: November 9, 2005.
