Hi Gail,

I would check with the Samuel P. Harm Museum of Art on the University of Florida campus.  This is an issue I believe they have dealt with as they have a very large proactive Alumni Association.  I think you would want to contact Phyllis Delaney, Director of Development at the Harn: [log in to unmask].

Here is Harn's museum contact page via the website: http://www.harn.ufl.edu/harn.php?ThisPage=harn.php&category=8&subcat=b   They are all very approachable and friendly people who will be happy to share their insights.

Best Wishes,
Kristen Ruck

Subject: University Museums and Foundations

Hello,

I am looking for examples of agreements or policies that are used by
university museums in accepting gifts through their school's
foundations.  I am particularly interested in agreements in which the
foundation seeks to maintain ownership of the works but to place them
on permanent loan to the museum.  Pros and cons of past experiences
would also be welcome.

I thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

Gail
