Steve: One resource that you might look into is the Wittliff Gallery of Southwestern and Mexican Photography at Texas State University-San Marcos. The Wittliff is a collection of art as well as documentary/journalistic photography from all across the SW US and Mexico. Their current exhibit, <Testigos de la historia / Witnesses to History,> showcases the Wittliff's permanent collection of modern and contemporary Mexican documentary photography. Here is their website: http://www.library.txstate.edu/swwc/wg/ I'm not sure if they have what you are looking for, but it never hurts to ask! Good luck with your search, Amanda Thompson Dyer Curator Bell County Museum 201 N. Main St. P.O. We are seeking collections of photos, clothing, tools, papers, housing or anything related to the field workers or growers of the period. The bracero program consisted of a series of bi-lateral agreements between Mexico and the United States between 1942 and 1964, enabling millions of Mexican men to come to the United States to work on short-term labor contracts. It had a significant impact on communities in Mexico and the U.S., on immigration, and bilateral relations, and on labor.
