I may have the opportunity to become involved in a project to produce a
regional arts map for several localities in my area. The idea would be to
have local artists, galleries and museums located on a map, with information
about each venue, with the map being distributed to visitors and residents
of the area. Although the localities involved have already committed money
to the project, it is also expected that artists, galleries and museums will
pay a nominal amount to be included on the map. I am not sure at the moment
whether there will be an Internet component or not.
In order to be better prepared for the project and get some idea of what
other cities, counties, etc., have done, I've done some Web searching, but
have only come up with the one produced by the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Can anyone on the list suggest other places that have done this, whom I
might contact about costs, things to do (or not to do), etc.?
The Internet version of the Halifax map works very well; it can be found at
http://www.halifaxartmap.ns.ca/index.html.
Thanks very much for your help!
