Our small local history museum, the Oconomowoc and Lake Country Museum, always tries to have a thank you event for our volunteers- an annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast. Breakfast food is a little less expensive than a dinner and we host it at a local restaurant who gives us a break in the price because we are a non-profit. Along with the meal we have a program. This past year we had a musician who volunteered his services, to play a selection of songs from vintage songsheets that we have in our collection written by locals or inspired by our community. Several were made into sing-a- longs which proved to be very popular- especially since they got to sing "I Took a Walk in Oconomowoc". Besides that, this year instead of the certificates or pins, which we have discovered are not valued by the volunteers, each person received a canvas tote bag (less than $5) with our new museum logo on it.

Dear all

We have a group of less than 10 volunteers whom we would like to show our
appreciation to ( a yearly affair).
In the past we had a gathering for both our students and adult volunteers
where we play ice breaking games followed by a buffet and a small
presentation ceremony.

This year, we do not have any student volunteers and will thus be doing one
only for the adults volunteers.

Anyone with any fine idea (on the sovenirs to give, the things to do, type
of venue etc) on what we can do to make the gathering a cosy and memorable
one?

The number we are looking at is about 10 volunteers plus another 15 to max
20 staff. We are a Centre which houses both storage facilities for
artefacts and conservation laboratories.

Any ideas big or small is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
