This story is nothing short of astonishing, and totally unexpected in the midst of this huge disaster. These people are my new heroes, honestly!
I have always wondered how I would respond as a museum person, when confronted with such a huge regional disaster (probably the last time we really talked about this was following the looting of the Iraqi National Museum in Bagdad). I only hope that under such circumstances, I would conduct myself with the same honor, bravery, and sense of purpose as those fine people at NOMA have.
