Do you have firearms in your collection? Doesn’t everyone?? Join this interactive hands-on workshop at the Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center! Building on last year’s firearms workshop, Deborah Long, Head of Objects Conservation, will discuss and demonstrate the care and storage of historic firearms in collections. Using the current IMLS funded arms project currently underway at the Nebraska State Historical Society Museum of Nebraska History in Lincoln as a model, Ms. Long will discuss collection storage planning, examination, handling, numbering, cleaning, and storage of firearms. Workshop will be held at the Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center.
